Plantar warts are benign skin growths located on the toes or soles of the feet. They are caused by a virus. Although they are not a serious health hazard they often cause discomfort and embarrassment due to their unsightly appearance. These skin growths are very common and at time difficult to treat.

Various methods have been used over the years to treat plantar warts. The most common treatments offered today by most physicians can be quite uncomfortable and inconvenient. These include surgery, electrical cautery and laser (burning), cryosurgery (freezing) and chemotherapy.

Our office uses a a very simple technique which very often gets great results. We inject a very small amount of a substance called candida antigen. Candida antigen has been used for many, many years for other conditions by physicians and is known to be very safe. Occasional side effects are usually very minor and include itching or a mild burning. Candida antigen stimulates the bodies own immune response to clear the wart. The needle used is very small and causes very little discomfort.

Candida antigen can also be used successfully to treat warts on other parts of the body as well.
